In 2019, PHS turned 60 years old. To mark that milestone, the school district’s Superintendent, the PHS Principal, the Board of Education and a group of alumni felt it was long overdue to establish an official Pennsauken High School Alumni Association (PHSAA). Our tagline, Preserving the Past ~ Inspiring the Future, is at the core of all of our activities.
One can say without exaggeration, that Pennsauken High School has educated people of excellent character who have impacted society on the grandest of stages. The educators, skilled artisans, professionals, community leaders, responsible parents, and overall excellent citizens that the halls of Pennsauken High School have nurtured are truly our legacy.
This association will take time to build and expand, but for those alumni reading this, please spread the word. We need your membership, your ideas, your support and your enthusiasm. We are proud of our school, our traditions, our past accomplishments and we look forward with pride toward inspiring future PHS students!
The first yearbook, Legend, was published by the Class of 1962. As we read through their dedication page, one can feel their pride in Pennsauken High School. Only 3 years open, the school and the students were looking to leave behind legacy for future classes.
It reads in part:
“We, the Class of ’62, proudly dedicate this, our first yearbook, to the future of our Alma Mater, Pennsauken High School.
In the years to come, you will be the living symbol of all those who have contributed to your being. May the classes of the future entrust to you their initiative, their foresight, and their loyalty. Proudly may you stand.”
